Stacks of Books

Methinks that in this season of social distancing, books are going to make a comeback and we will all reminisce about the time we first fell in love with Jamie Fraser a few decades after Outlander actually hit shelves.

Or…society will watch every possible show, movie, and original programming on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime and people will be forced to go old school and read words on paper.

Either way, I’m here for it.

In such a time as this, I feel it is my duty as a writer to point you in the direction of some titles that will make you laugh or smile or forget that you don’t have enough toilet paper to last you through the end of the week.

The first batch of books are personal favorites of mine. The second batch are twenty books that have been given THREE or FOUR STARS on the IHGB Summer Book Reading List. That means, these books have been categorized as “stellar” by voracious readers three and four years in a row. That’s quite the endorsement.

Oh you don’t know about the IHGB Summer Book Reading List? Please email me and I will send you last year’s copy for free! I’ll also put you on my newsletter list so you can get this year’s collection, too.

In the meantime, stay safe, wash your hands, and HAPPY READING!

Lincee’s Picks

On the Bright Side by Melanie Shankle
I covered Melanie’s book for The Associated Press. Here’s what I had to say about it on ABC.com. (Spoiler: I really liked it.)

Eat. Pie. Love by Tara Royer Steele
(Note: She’s one of my favorite people!)

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling
(Consider the audio version. Mindy Kaling is hilarious!)

The Wondering Years by Knox McCoy

(Royalty. Love. What more could you ask for?)

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
(In my opinion, this is the best Harry Potter book!)
