Home of the brave

Like many of you, my heart has been heavy this week for those living in Boston and West. I found myself praying, “Come Lord Jesus. Come.”

Although the devastation is great, I’m thankful for the stories you hear about the heroes who ran toward the destruction to offer a helping hand. I thank God for them and silently ask that if I’m ever put in a situation where I have to choose, I will be brave enough to serve as they did.

And the hometown support of Boston Bruins fans, both for their city and their country, is clearly evident in this video. It’s times like these that make me proud to be an American.

Great post, nicely said. Boston is my hometown (I live in Buffalo, NY now). Seeing the pure kindness of individuals during this horrific weak and love for our country and freedom makes it all just a bit easier to bear. My prayers are with West, TX and Boston, MA. We are the USA, we will overcome, we will stand united. My hope is that months from now we all keep being positive and kind. #BostonStrong

God bless you, Lincee, and may God bless and protect America. He is faithful and has it all under control, even when it seems hopeless and chaotic. Trust Him.

I had not seen this. Thank you for sharing. It brought back one of my favorite memories. On our plane on the way home from a mission trip to Haiti were a National Guard troop returning to the U.S. When the plane touched down in Miami, the pilot came on air to thank the NG for serving. Someone started singing the Star Spangled Banner at the back of the plane, and from back to front people started singing, ending with a loud round of applause for the troops. It was awesome, and I still get chills.

Thanks for the post, Lincee. Here in the Boston area we’re overwhelming grateful for a new, more peaceful day, and for the support of people like you around the country. 🙂
