This was a fun list Lincee! I also grew up watching Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken!! I am sad you left out The Vow. Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum and a head injury?? Recipe for a good love story!

Excellent show. Y’all are hilarious!
One of my top 3 that y’all didn’t mention is French Kiss. Kevin Kline and Meg Ryan. *love*

I forgot to add this! I am not a fan of “You’ve Got Mail” either. But did you know it’s actually a remake? “The Shop Around the Corner” is the original, and it is perfect. It was made in 1940, and I highly recommend it.

I vote Hope Floats. I watch it every single time it’s on TV. Every time. Oh, and Pride and Prejudice, Kiera Knightley version. Mr. Darcy, seriously?….. le swoon

Totally agree on Notebook, While You Were Sleeping, The Proposal & Sweet Home Alabama. I still think Hope Floats should have made the list even though there are sad parts. What about How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days?

Goodness, ladies, you need to watch “Moonstruck” immediately! Not only is it one of my favorite romances of all time, it’s one of my favorite movies -period. To give you an idea of how much I love this movie, I detest Nicholas Cage and usually avoid any movie he’s in, yet love him in this movie. You mentioned wanting to leave a movie happy and hopeful and this one achieves that and more. It’s the best testament to not “settling” I’ve ever seen!

Maybe it’s an age thing, but I can’t believe y’all didn’t much like “Four Weddings and a Funeral.” I bet I’ve watched it 20+ times!

Great podcast! Lara is a terrific guest. Can’t believe no one said What Women Want. Best movie kiss ever when Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt make out in the restaurant.
PS Lincee, we are no longer friends if you don’t like You’ve Got Mail. I’ll miss you.

Enjoyed the podcast. Just have to say The Notebook is the sadest movie ever to me!! Allie gets sick and can’t remember Noah, I watch it until they dance and right before she forgets again I turn the channel. My favorite scene is when the children ask Noah to leave the nursing home and Noah says that is my sweetheart in there. Where ever she is that is where my home is. That is love. Love Actually is the best one. All kinds of loves. THE BEST.

Oh goodness…all it took for me was reading your description, Karina! I’m all choked up and teary and sniffly now.

I haven’t even listened to it, but Some Guy would have ruined this podcast, Lincee, good thing you brought Lara on!

I smiled all the way through! That was fun, Lincee. There are a couple you mentioned that I am going to watch again: The Proposal and While You Were Sleeping.
I’m a “few” years older than you, but this is one of my top five movies of all time: The Working Girl with Harrison Ford, Melanie Griffith, Sigourney Weaver and Joan Cusack. Another I can watch more than twice: My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Am loving your podcasts! Agree with your choices, especially While You Were Sleeping… Here’s another one to watch/think about: Frankie and Johnny- Michelle Pfeiffer & Al Pacino….quirky but sweet!

Loved this podcast!! I haven’t seen a lot of the classic love story movies you mentioned, but I think I need to now. LOVEEE “The Proposal” (and my dog’s name is Kevin) & Sandy B is just an amazing actress. I hate to admit that I did NOT enjoy The Notebook the first time I saw it, it was right after a breakup and I was all sorts of down on love. But rest assured, I adore it now (although I turn it off before the end..I can’t deal). Yall didn’t mention “Two Weeks Notice” but that is another of my favs. And THANK YOU for mentioning “Never Been Kissed,” that was (and my still be) my favorite of all time. What about 27 Dresses?? That is a pretty good love story too. Can’t wait for the Christmas podcast!!

I missed something – so Lara’s three favs are While You Were Sleeping, The Proposal, and The Notebook. And Linsey’s three favs are 16 candles, When Harry Met Sally, and . . . what was the third?
