IHGB reader Linda emailed me a long time ago suggesting I periodically share my latest iTunes purchases. I thought this was a superb idea. Thank you Linda! It is without further adieu I give you my latest greatest favorites:
1. “Turn to Stone” by Ingrid Michaelson
Take a look at this YouTube video and you’ll understand why I purchased this song. The only question is why it took me so long to do it! Awesome song, amazing show and best dance of the season. Enough said.
2. “Seven Bridges Road” by The Eagles
I’m almost ashamed to admit that this was not in my iTunes repertoire. Go now to purchase the live version and you can thank me later.
3. “Crazy Girl” by the Eli Young Band
Every time this song came on the radio, I would Shazam it on my fancy iPhone and remember that I had Shazamed the same exact song only days before. Once I did this about nine times, I was convinced that I should go ahead and get it so I could learn the lyrics.
4. “You and Me” by Penny and the Quarters
I love old soul music. When I heard my fake boyfriend Ryan Gosling serenade his love with this song in Blue Valentine, I knew I had to have it. If it’s good enough for my Ryan, it’s good enough for me.
5. The entire “Cool Yule” Christmas album by Bette Midler
I totally scored this in the five dollar bin at Walmart. ‘Tis the season people. ‘Tis the season.
Now it’s your turn. Let me know what you guys have been downloading so I can download and be as cool as you!
Fun idea! I recently downloaded all of The Script’s albums after hearing their songs on my new XM radio. I’m probably way behind everybody on that one, but it has provided many miles of entertainment!
We just downloaded JT Hodges “Hunt you Down” He has a good voice and I think it’s a good song. Of course we also downloaded the New Casting Crowns songs…they are different than the other CD
Parachute “Kiss Me Slowly” … love them.
Snow Patrol’s “just say yes”… so good. i want to walk down the aisle to that at my wedding (someday).
