Remember…remember…remember…
Sadly…I wish I could forget.
That’s right IHGB readers. For those of you who care, I saw an advanced screening of Fame and was highly disappointed.
It started off great! I convinced myself within 30 seconds of the opening number that I was not only going to own the DVD, but the soundtrack would be a member of my iPod family as well.
Then it fizzled.
And no…I was not hopped up on Vicodin when I watched the show. In fact, I made sure to suffer the entire event with a throbbing knee so I could stay awake instead of possibly drooling half-way through due to a pain-killing-induced-semi-coma-state-of-mind.
Seriously. I give it a C.
It’s sad. I know.
Now the only thing I have to look forward to is this:
I’ll take it! TEAM JACOB!

First let me say that I always look forward to checking out your blog. It’s a fun part of my day.
Sad news indeed (about Fame). Maybe you could download the Six Pack by Straight No Chaser. Their full album is coming out Nov 3rd, but until then, enjoy the Six Pack!

When I was reading the books I was Team Edward. Now with the movies, TEAM JACOB!!! How pitiful that I’m a 47 year old woman drooling over someone younger than my own kids!! That boy is F-I-N-E fine.
Oh no- Im going to see it tomorrow. I had such high hopes. Oh well at least its a girls night out and hopefully it will be fun even if the movie sucks!
That’s so disappointing! I’m going to see it with the girls on Sunday! And we’re purchasing advanced tickets for New Moon while we’re there! I’m totally TEAM JACOB, as well!
I’m SO dissapointed to hear that about Fame. I’m planning to see it with some girlfriends this weekend. Maybe having low expectations will make it better for me, I hope. Anyway, thanks for the heads up.
CANNOT FLIPPIN WAIT on New Moon… I’m planning on scheduling my son’s delivery in time to recover to make it to the premier? A little obsessive? -maybe. ;o)
Its true on the SNC Summer Six Pack…Guaranteed “Cheer You Up” music.
I’m bummed about Fame, I was going to see it this weekend, but now I’m definitely reconsidering that suggestion.
#2 BigRed62 – now I don’t feel so bad. I’m 42 and have told friends that I will have to wait until DVD because I don’t want to be perceived as a pedophile 🙂 When I was that age, boys did not look that good.
Go Team Jacob!
I am totally out of the loop- writing this from a doctor’s office, maybe that’s why- but what the what is Fame?! Someone fill me in… I am still loyal to studly Edward although Jacob is looking, as I read above, F-I-N-E!
I’m going to see Fame this weekend with my daughter. Even if it’s not as amazing as the first one, I still want to see it out of respect to the franchise. I’m totally looking forward to seeing some great dancing and singing, so I hope I won’t be too disappointed. After that, we’re going to do the New Moon countdown as well. Woo hoo!
Lincee, thanks for saving me the money. I think I’ll go see Clive Owen’s new movie, The Boys Are Back. Clive Owen is yummy.
And how are we not talking about Glee? I’m loving this show!
I fully expected this movie to stink. Most movies about dancing are awful They can’t seem to resist making it all a big political statement – and blah blahing about “art” and “expression.” The whole point of dancing is that it is SEXY! Not to mention graceful in the way that gymnastics awes us every four years.
Stick to the raw, primal, sex appeal of dancing and we have the basis for an enjoyable movie. Don’t make it (or fly-fishing, surfing, etc) a metaphor for life.
It is also a way to irritate old people – like “Footloose” and “Dirty Dancing.” I can never get enough of that!
Well, this makes me feel better. My Friday movie buddies are going to see this tomorrow, but I will be home with two kids sick who have the flu.

Oh. My. Awesomeness!
I truly just wiped some drool off my keyboard. Oy Vey!
I’m surprised you aren’t talking about GLEE!
