Here’s the deal: It’s not that I thought Ryan Gosling did a bad job hosting Saturday Night Live. There were definitely highlights that made me laugh. I blame my lack of enthusiasm on high expectations. And the fact that he never took his shirt off, even though one skit BEGGED for him to do so. Also, no one can beat Jimmy Fallon or Justin Timberlake as host. The deck is stacked against everyone else. It might be my opinion, but it’s true.

Here are the three moments that I thoroughly enjoyed:

The Opening Monologue
Mike Myers is an SNL legend. It was nice to see him bring ooot Ryan’s inner Canadian.

The Alien Abduction
Kate McKinnon is the new Kristen Wiig. I love how she makes everyone break during this sketch.

The Shoulder Shimmy
This skit had so much potential, but it kept falling flat. Until this happened:
