After not being able to bounce back from my appendectomy as fast as I thought I should, my brain is getting pretty annoyed with my body. It’s all saltine crackers, water, antibiotics and probiotics around here. Aren’t they canceling each other out? Can’t a girl just pick up something lighter than a feather and submerge in water like the good old days?
Clearly this is the cry of someone who just needs a little jolt of happiness. I’m honored that Justin Timberlake heard me. Rest assured — this new track has been purchased.
You know what else makes me happy? Discovering new YA novels that are described as “Hunger Games with princesses.” Excuse me? How did I not know about this series? Thank you Hillary for keeping me in the YA loop. Check out Kiera Cass’ Selection series!
Speaking of loving all things YA as a 40-year-old, have you heard that Adventures in Babysitting is going to be on the Disney Channel now? It’s a reboot, so I have no idea if our main heroine will sing “Then He Kissed Me.” She should. And her friend’s name should be Brenda.
My friend’s name is Natalie. She tells me what to wear for every major event I attend. In fact, if you see me outside of my home, chances are what I’m wearing is directly from Natalie’s closet. She also knows a lot about the art of picking out sunglasses.
Do you know what else isn’t in my closet? Anything anyone wore on the red carpet from the MET Gala. Well, except the Madonna outfit. Of course I wear that for very special occasions.
DISNEY NERD ALERT! I was on a Disney podcast talking about my time as a Jungle Cruise skipper. If you ignore the twangy accent, it’s pretty entertaining!
I’ve also been busy covering the final episodes of this season’s shows. Do you want any of these?
The Goldbergs
Finally, I’m still in the throws of figuring out the book writing world. Stay tuned!
And have a happy time dancing to “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”
I refer to The Selection series as Hunger Games meets The Bachelor. Enjoy! I love it.
The Selection series is AMAZING! Currently in the middle of The Crown and sad it’s coming to an end. But I agree with Betsy: the first 3 are basically The Bachelor, and the last two are The Bachelorette.
Ooohhh…a new YA series to devour! Awesome. And how about those dresses on the book covers? Divine!!
I am listening to the podcast and I think I was working the wedding you worked. Small world!! (no pun intended!)
Girl! I just saw the line up of guys for bachelorette and my first thought was I needed to see what u thought about 2 Nicks ( can we ban all nicks please?!?) and THREE James. Including James Taylor!!! I am so sorry (but entertained as usual) to hear about your appendix and its passing. Prayers for a few uneventful weeks to recover.
