A summer heat wave has landed in the middle of Houston, Texas and I’m feel it slapping me in the face every time I walk outside the door. There are a handful of things that can get me through the sweat, so I decided to share some of them here with you and a few others in my newsletter. Grab a cold beverage, rub some ice cubes on your sizzling skin, and enjoy these favorite things!

Outlander is BACK, people. Prepare yourselves for another season of Jamie Fraser.

Did you see The Kingsman the first time it came out in 2015? I did not. Then I became sort-of (read: completely) obsessed with Taron Egerton when he played the crooning gorilla in Sing. I “researched” his bio on IMDB, finally watched The Kingsman, and was thrilled to see that there is a sequel coming out in September. Bonus? Not only does it showcase the talents of Taron and my boy Colin Firth, but Channing Tatum plays a James Bond-type cowboy. Yes. Always, yes.

Aside: Does anyone else feel nervous about Channing and Jenna? They are never together anymore. With the announcement of Anna and Chris Pratt’s separation, I’m very sensitive when it comes to my favorite celebrity couples.

Speaking of movies, I have high hopes for the Reese Witherspoon romantic comedy Home Again. I mean HIGH HOPES.

You know how I love Marcus Mumford? I love him when he plays with Johnny Depp, too. Who knew? Behold: The New Basement Tapes!

My friend Melanie wrote a book and I couldn’t be more excited for her! Well, she’s written a lot of books, but this one is her latest creation!

My friend Marian wrote a book and it is incredible. It’s called Stand and I would love if you checked it out!

Finally, this picture is everything. It’s all of the women who voice the Disney princesses (and Olaf) both in actual form and animated. People are soooo creative!
