I had this message on my phone when I landed last night. It is the first text I’ve ever received from my Dad. I’m pretty sure it the second he’s sent in his life. I feel special.

I will be back to normal posting tomorrow. Thanks for all of you who followed me on Facebook. I had a blast updating my status!

But right now, I’m struggling with that eighth-grade slumber party feeling this morning. And it’s weird that it’s 70 degrees outside. Where’s the snow? Where’s the guy on the corner selling mulled wine? There was no castle on the skyline as I made my way to work. I didn’t have a croissant for breakfast.

Silver lining? I’m drinking a Dr Pepper right now.
