Gut check
The 4th of July is all about honoring the land of the free and the home of the brave. As a proud American, I celebrated this weekend by fishing, swimming, shooting fireworks, shoving small children out of the way so I could catch the parachute and dancing to Neil Diamond’s “America” while waving old glory like I was a rhythmic gymnast prepping for Rio.
Oh, and here’s a list of what I ate:
- Peach cobbler
- An entire row of Oreos
- Turkey sandwich that I dipped in queso
- Queso. Queso. Queso.
- Dr Pepper
- Sugar cookie with red icing and white stars
- Sugar cookie with blue icing and white stars
- Lasagna
- Sunny D orange juice (throw back to 1989)
- A yellow popsicle that tasted like tropical goodness
- Eggs and bacon and biscuits
- Dr Pepper
- Amaretto sour
- Powdered donuts
- Corn from the garden (the only vegetable from the weekend)
- Pizza rolls (Mom was really into retro snacks)
- Strawberry PopTart
- Corny dog from Sonic
- An entire jar of hot sauce with an entire bag of tortilla chips
- Mama’s famous pink lemonade daiquiri
- Queso. Queso. Queso.
- Dr Pepper
I may be five pounds heavier, but I’m still thankful to be an American.
Rock it, sister!! And in a game of parachute, small children are collateral damage! LOL!
Haha!! That sounds like a perfect menu! Love the visual of you prepping for Rio with your flexibility and your flag. 🙂
Okay, now I want some Oreos. Have you tried Oreo Thins? Oh my goodness – they are sooo good! Because they are thin you trick yourself into thinking you can eat more. The only drawback to that is that eating an entire row is waaay too easy! (Ask me how I know this…) 😉
Love the list! Would hate to reproduce mine. Sure was fun too and included bowls of banana pudding. Yum. Did not know there was no Bachlorette this week, boo.
Share the recipe for your Mama’s famous pink lemonade daiquiri..pretty please.
Sounds about right …lol
Hi, Lincee. You are hilarious, I read your recaps of the Bachelor/ette and it is always something I look forward to after watching, I still remember the old email days! Thanks for sharing your list, that is a bunch of awesomeness. Anyway, I never post but was wondering if you happened to check out Coupled? Would love to know if this becomes something else to recap, could be interesting. Thanks for all the laughs!
OMG! That cobbler looks amazing!
OMG, I am so envious! I am allergic to eggs (no cookies, cobbler, or donuts), wheat (take out the biscuits, coney dog, sandwich, lasagna, pop tarts, pizza rolls), dairy (add the queso to the no-no list), and I could keep going, unfortunately.
You get the picture… all that I could have on your entire list is the alcohol. Oh yes, it is quite good to be American.
I am in Hawaii I am eating Macadamian nuts covered in chocolate or caramel or other salty or sweet tastes, lots of fish raw, fried and grilled, french fries, potatoe chips, dried fruit snacks that are mostly sugar -some of these made up lunch yesterday on the road to and from Volcano National park. Lol Don’t forget eggs bacon and fresh pineapple. I feel like I have gained wait but lost from walking, swimming, snorkeling and sun (sweat) lol!
