IHGB #316: Golden Bachelor Podcast: Episode 2
Hello, everyone!
It’s week two, and my love for Gerry is still strong. My roommate Lara joins me today to share Gerry’s first week dating twenty-two women, and we do have a count of how many times he cried. Note for the audio, I cried more than anyone in the room, and I’m not feeling weird about it at all. Lara and I break down the details of the dates, including:
- Did anyone think through making Gerry drive at nighttime on a busy California highway?
- Kudos to Susan for having the forethought to pack a white fringe flapper dress in case she has to jump out of a fake birthday cake.
- When did pirate wench become a genre for romance novels?
- And why in the world did ABC make these women stay in bunk beds?
If Joan breaks a hip falling out of the top bunk when she gets up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I’m going to be so upset.

Another great podcast, love you two sisters together! I’m worried about Gerry getting drawn in by Leslie, who has been divorced twice! She is working it and he is a bit naive. I think she wants to “win”. My sweet husband of 45 years would be naive also. I have told my girlfriends to watch out for him if I meet the Lord first.
I’ve told my daughter in law the same thing about mine. Haha
I am loving Golden bachelor. I quit watching the bachelor years ago. I see all my friends in these ladies. Not that any of my friends would do it although I have one that would be so good at it. I want to know if any of these women have sons. I can see daughters thinking it’s great but sons? Nope. My son went to college with my high school boyfriends son. They became friends. I said that’s nuts. You know I dated his dad all through high school. My son was not amused. He said I don’t even want to think about you dating dad. I never want to think about you dating someone else. The meeting the families will be interesting
Love the podcast!
Was Lara’s “sympathetic crier” comment a Psych reference?
For context on what 60-year-old women can do: a friend is close to that age and ran a full marathon on (in?) Antarctica. She’s my inspiration
