IHGB #331: Bachelor Joey Recap: I Love That
Hello everyone!
Can you believe that we are kicking off Season 28 of The Bachelor? Gone are the days of twenty women nervously exiting a limo and giggling at their chance to find love with a stranger. Nowadays, there are so many cringy icebreakers that we have to edit it down from thirty to the top fifteen most embarrassing mishaps.
Some Guy in Austin and I discussed how many times I hid behind my couch cushion, and let me tell you, dear listener, it was a lot. There were balls, and bananas, and disappointing chemistry experiments. Not to mention the fact that one problematic girl actually waved her own red flag.
Run, Joey. RUN!

So, are the written recaps a thing of the past now? I miss them. However, I do also like the podcast, so I’ll take what I can get. But your write-ups are the best!
I’ve read the Bachelor recaps since they were sent out in an email. I REALLY miss the written recaps… don’t have time to listen to the podcasts so I know I don’t enjoy this site as much as I used to. 🙁
Me too. I don’t have time to listen to podcasts but was very devoted to reading the blogs. Sad that they’re gone.
Oh, sad! Are you really not doing written recaps anymore? I’ve followed your Bachelor recaps since the email days, and your writing is just my favorite. I like to read your recaps when I’m brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed, and I can’t really do that with the podcast. I hope you’ll consider going back to the written ones.
I love both the written and the podcast forms. Some Guy in Austin sometimes makes me laught out loud. I like hearing the male perspective too.
Didn’t anyone notice the into? Joey, by himself, trying not to cry. A LONG-STEMMED rose left sitting on the table. If this was Joey being rejected, the final rose would have been a lapel rosebud, not a long-stemmed rose. So the initial footage was NOT when he was being rejected by Charity last season. This looks like he did not give out the final rose. And they show a white SUV leaving. I think they were suggesting that his final choice turned down his proposal. But I think he was overcome with guilt after sending home his second choice before the proposal to his final pick, and needed time to compose himself before giving out the final rose. But they edit it to make us think he leaves with no one, which I highly doubt.
When they later show Joey being rejected by Charity, he was wearing a different suit. So in the first footage he was NOT crying over Charity.
Funky Cold Medina!! YES!!! LOL! Best line ever! That just HAS to be where she got her name!!
I agree with those who said they miss the written recap. Tried the podcast once, but just takes too much time.
